Pakistan Navy establishes special task force to protect Gwadar Port

GWADAR, DEC 13, (DNA) – Pakistan Navy on Tuesday established a special task force called TF-88 for the protection of Gwadar Port.
A ceremony was held in Gwadar where Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Lt. General Zubair Hayat was the chief guest on the occasion.
The heads of the three armed forces Chief of Army Staff General Qammar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah were present on the occasion.
Lt General Zubair Hayat, while speaking on the occasion, said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will improve the economy of the nation, and will benefit Pakistan and the region. He said that the role of the Navy was crucial for maritime security, and commended the Naval chief for their services.
The task force has been established after the port has become functional, and will protect the port from formal and informal threats. Speedboats, planes for aerial supervision and drones are part of this special force.=DNA
