Pakistan values its relations with Romania, Mamnoon tells Emilian
ISLAMABAD, 02 AUG, (DNA) – President Mamnoon Hussain has said Pakistan-Romania relations are based on mutual respect and harmony. Both countries have consensus over several international issues.
The President made these comments while talking to the Ambassador of Romania Emilian ION who paid a farewell visit on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The President said that Pakistan values its relations with Romania in context of European Union (EU). He said that there is need of the visits of high level delegations on both sides to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
The President said that the current trade-volume between Pakistan and Romania is quite little which can be enhanced by the efforts of both countries.
The outgoing Ambassador Emilian ION paid his gratitude to the President for the splendid cooperation of the Federal Government during his stay in Pakistan.
The ambassador said that now the trade volume between the two countries stand at over 300 billion US dollars, which is a big achievement.
The President said to the Ambassador that he hopes the ambassador will continue its efforts to promote Pakistan-Romania relations even after leaving Pakistan.
Earlier in July, Ambassador of Romania Emilian ION said while speaking on the occasion of a farewell reception he hosted at his residence to bid farewell to diplomatic fraternity and Pakistani friends that he is leaving Pakistan next month with a heavy heart as he will surely miss hospitality of Pakistani people extended to him during his seven and half years stay in Pakistan.
Ambassador Emilian happens to be the longest serving Romanian ambassador in Pakistan and according to him, he considered Pakistan his second home and he will greatly miss great Pakistani people whom I found not only hospitable but extremely friendly also. =DNA
