Pak-Afghanistan discuss repatriation of Afghan refugees

ISLAMABAD, 22 APR, (DNA) – Pakistan and Afghanistan have discussed matters related to early and dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland through mutual cooperation as well as engagement with the international community.
Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi, Afghan Minister of Refugees and Repatriation met.
Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs. Lt. Gen. Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister of State and Frontier Regions was also present in the meeting.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs emphasized the need of effective steps for achieving this objective.
The Afghan Minister expressed profound gratitude and appreciation for Pakistan in hosting millions of Afghan refugees for more than three decades. He apprised the Pakistan side that Afghan Government was evolving an effective policy for early repatriation and sustainable resettlement of Afghan refugees in Afghanistan.
The Afghan Minister of Refugees and Repatriation is on a bilateral visit to Pakistan from 19-23 April 2016 for discussion on Afghan refugee issues with the Pakistan side. =DNA
