Painting competition regarding World Health Day
ISLAMABAD, APR 1 /DNA/ – Pakistan Girl Guides Association NHQ in collaboration with World Health Organization Pakistan organized a Painting Competition for Guides on 1st April 2022.
The theme of the event was “Our Planet, Our Health”. The medium of painting was poster colors. 50 Guides (age 14-18) from Rawalpindi & Islamabad participated.
During the event Guides made wonderful paintings highlighting the need fora world where clean air, water, and food are available to all.
Where economies are focused on health and well-being. Where cities are livable and people have control over their health and the health of the planet.
They also expressed their concerns regarding the increase in diseases like cancer, asthma, heart disease, etc. due to a polluted environment.
Dr. PalithaGunarathnaMahipala, World Health Organization’s Representative in Pakistan was the Chief Guest.
He appreciated the Pakistan Girl Guides Association for its efforts forthe empowerment of the girls and for advocating Global Issues.
Mrs. Mari Maud Sabri, National Commissioner PGGA received the Guest and briefed him about the program and activities of the Girl Guides Association.
