ISLAMABAD, SEPT 29 (DNA) – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday recommended the government to increase the prices of Motor Gasoline (Petrol) by Rs2.36 per litre and High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2.20 with effect from 1 October.

The regulatory body has also recommended an increase of Rs19.33 per litre in Kerosene oil prices.

In case the government approves the OGRA determination about the increase in prices of various petroleum products, petrol price will go up from 72.8 to Rs75.16 per liter and diesel to Rs83.6 from current Rs81.4 per litre. The prices of Kerosene Oil after an increase of Rs19.33 will go up to Rs63.33 per litre from the existing Rs44 per litre.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government had revised prices of petroleum products a month ago, increasing the prices of petrol by Rs2 per litre. However, the prices for high-speed diesel, kerosene oil and light-speed diesel remained unchanged.

The prices were increased on recommendation of OGRA.

The OGRA had recommended an increase of Rs. 2.35/litre in the price of petroleum , increase of Rs. 0.75/litre in the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD), increase of Rs. 15.79/litre in the price of kerosene , and increase of Rs. 12.18/litre in the price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO).

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the matter with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. It was decided that the prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD), Kerosene Oil and LDO will be maintained at the current level during the month of September, while the price of petrol was increased.
