Najam Sethi briefs Finance Minister about PCB financial matters
ISLAMABAD, March 10 (DNA): Chairman, Executive Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi held a meeting with Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq here Thursday. He was accompanied by senior PCB officials.Najam Sethi on this occasion highlighted efforts of the PCB for refurbishing the cricket infrastructure and re-organizing the game on strong footing in the country. He also gave an overview of the just concluded PSL which he said contributed to promotion of cricket and strengthened efforts to revive international cricket in Pakistan.
Najam Sethi also discussed with the Minister financial matters regarding the PCB and apprised him about some tax related issues which needed urgent redressal.
The Minister referred the submission of the PCB on tax related issues to Chairman FBR for detailed review and asked for a report in the matter on priority basis.
The Minister appreciated efforts of the PCB for organizing the game on modern lines and added the government would support PCB’s efforts for revival of international cricket in the country.
He said there was great passion for cricket in Pakistan and people wanted their team to win while playing in international events. Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance also attended the meeting. DNA
