NA-120 by-poll: ECP approves nomination papers of Kulsoom Nawaz

LAHORE, AUG 17 (DNA) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) approved nomination papers of Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former premier Nawaz Sharif, as she prepares to contest NA-120 by-election after her husband was disqualified by Supreme Court in Panama case.
ECP rejected the reservations raised by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). She will now contest the NA-120 by-poll which is scheduled in September.
“There is no case of corruption against Nawaz Sharif and these are same allegations Imran Khan has been imposing on our party,” Asif Kirmani said while media talk. He mentioned that returning officer gave full opportunity to their political rivals, but they had no evidence whatsoever.
Kirmani further stated that nine objections were raised against ex-PM’s wife and not a single could be proved. “When RO asked whether we also have any reservation against the candidates, we said no and declared to contest with them in the election, on the basis of votes,” he stressed.
