MQM Haqiqi Chairperson Afaq Ahmed resigns

KARACHI, (DNA) – After losing the election, MQM– Haqiqi Chairperson Afaq Ahmed has said he will be resigning as party head.
Despite party workers’ protests, he said he is not one to change his mind.
Ahmed contested the election from NA-240 Karachi and lost to MQM-Pakistan’s Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, who got 61,165 votes. Ahmed got 14,376 votes.
He addressed a press conference in Karachi after the results were announced and said that he took full responsibility for losing the election. The party now needs new leadership, he said.
