Lok Virsa: Preserving Pakistan’s cultural heritage
Exhibiting the beautiful culture of Pakistan, Islamabad’s Lok Virsa museum holds the rich heritage of all provinces.
Whether it is a display of Pakistani culture, historic relics or artifacts from different parts of the country, this museum integrates all the diverse heritage of Pakistan.
While the beauty of all the provinces including Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan is what the visitors witness as soon as they enter the museum, antiques from ancient civilisations along with the museum’s magical walls narrate stories of the country’s rich history.
The collection of relics for the Lok Virsa museum began in 1974 that were put on display in 2004. The museum also holds historic artifacts from the times of Sufi saints, with antique musical instruments on display aiming to represent the skill of the people of Pakistan.
Owing to its unique collection, the importance and appeal of the museum is increasing day by day.
