India maintain dominance over Pakistan with six-wicket win
Indian defeated Paksitan by six wickets. The Pakistanis scored at an unhurried pace for the first four overs, getting a feel of the track but managing to keep the scorecard ticking with regular boundaries.Ravichandran Ashwin turned the ball viciously, and gave away 12 runs in his first spell that saw only boundary scored off him
Sharjeel Khan was the first to go, going or for 17 from 24 balls off Suresh Raina, taken brilliantly by Hardik Pandya at mid-on, who ran in a long way to take a diving catch even as the ball was dipping on him.
Raina was Dhoni’s fifth bowler in seven overs, a move that ensured the Pakistani batsmen did not get a chance to get comfortable.
It paid off too, to an extent. It was only in midway through the game that Pakistan’s run rate crept up over the five-run mark, thanks mainly to 9 runs scored in the 9th over that also saw Ahmed Shehzad top-edging to Jadeja off Bumrah for 25 from 28 balls.
The first six was hit by Shoaib Malik in the 13th over by Pandya who gave away one more six in that over — by Umar Akmal; it was the most expensive with 15 runs being scored off it.
Shahid Afridi, who came at No. 3 disappointed scoring only 8 off 14 deliveries. In fact, none of the top three batsmen scored at more than a run a ball. It was left to mar Akmal to team up with Malik to break the shackles.
