Karachi operation only against terrorists: PM

ISLAMABAD, Sept 21 (DNA): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday said that Karachi operation was targeting terrorists and residents were extremely happy and satisfied with the improving law and order situation in the city.In a meeting co-chaired by him and President Mamnoon Hussain with the office bearers of PML-N Sindh at PM Office, the Prime Minister said that operation Zarb-e-Azb was a unanimously accepted political decision and the operation has yielded positive results.

The meeting started with Fateha for martyrs of Badabher incident and also for the deceased wife of Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq.

The Prime Minister in his opening remarks said that government is focused on tackling huge challenges like law and order, load shedding and development of infrastructure which are highly essential for economic growth, employment and prosperity.

Prime Minister said that operation Zarb-e-Azb was a unanimously accepted political decision and the operation has yielded positive results. Prime Minister expressed resolve to continue the operation until extremism and terrorism is eliminated in country.

Prime Minister said that Karachi operation is only targeted towards terrorists. He further said that the people of Karachi are extremely happy and satisfied with the improving law and order situation of Karachi.

General Secretary PML(N) Sindh Mr. Muhammad Ismail Rahoo briefed the Prime Minister about the establishment of district committees in Sindh. He said that the committees have been constituted in all 29 districts and these committees have already started their contacts with the masses.

Mr. Ismail Rahoo said that PML-N is the largest and most popular political party of the country and it’s strength lies in its workers and office bearers.

Senator Nehal Hashmi said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is the only leader of Pakistan who can take the country out of the challenges that we face today.

Prime Minister in his concluding remarks advised the office bearers to increase public contact and submit recommendations as for further improving the living standards of people of sindh.

The meeting was also attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Planning Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Advisor to the PM for Political Affairs Jam Mashooq Ali, Special Assistant to PM Dr. Syed Asif Saeed Kirmani, Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Minister of State for Communications Abdul Hakeem Baloch, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Ms. Marvi Memon,  Senator Raheela Magsi, Babu Sarfraz Jatoi, Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Sherazi (MNA), Hamayun Khan (MPA), Masroor Jatoi (MPA), Soorath Thebo (MPA), Syed Ejaz Shah Sherazi (MPA), Syed Shafqat Hussain Sherazi, Aslam Abro, Arbab Anwar Ali, Khel Das Kohistani (minority), Shabbir Ansari, Zain Ansari, Zafar A Shah, Chaudhry Tariq, Dr. Sham Sundar and Ali Akbar Gujjar attended the meeting.
