Indian actor Sharmila Tagore briefly stopped at Wagah border
LAHORE, 21 FEB, (DNA) – Renowned Indian actor Sharmila Tagore was stopped by security authorities at the Wagah border this morning when she was returning home after attending the Lahore Literary Festival (LLF).
Ms Tagore was stopped by the Pakistani authorities for lack of documents and failing to report to the police station concerned after arrival.
She was later allowed to leave after about four hours by the FIA and police after completing the paper-work formalities.
Earlier, the actor opened the festival. She said that it was the first time she had come to Pakistan.
She recalled how she stepped in to the hotel to the sounds of old Indian songs in the background. She thanked the people and organizers for the warm welcome in Lahore. =DNA
