Hikmet Hajiyev: Azerbaijani Army aims to prevent Armenian military aggression
Baku : Assistant to the President, Head of the Department for Foreign Policy Affairs of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev held a video conference with the world’s leading foreign media accredited in the Republic of Turkey (Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Voice of America, New York Times, CNN International, Politico, Deutsche Well, El Pais, El Periodico, ORF, Bloomberg, and Journo).
Informing about the Armenian armed forces’ latest provocations, Hajiyev said that the enemy deliberately intensively fired upon our positions and settlements in the frontline.
Regretting the number of civilians killed and injured, the presidential aide said that ten people, including two minors, have been killed and 30 wounded so far.
Hajiyev also said that the Azerbaijani Army’s objective is to prevent another military aggression by Armenia to ensure the civilian population’s security, mainly to provide Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized territorial integrity.
Later, Hajiyev answered journalists’ questions and invited them to Azerbaijan.
