Gilani hoists national flag at Pakistan Monument on Independence Day
ISLAMABAD, 14 AUG (DNA) — Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani hoisted the national flag at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad on Friday as part of celebrations marking Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. On the occasion, the Chairman Senate saluted the national flag and reaffirmed his commitment to Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
“Freedom is a great blessing, and its appreciation and protection is our shared national responsibility,” Gilani said. He said the development and prosperity of Pakistan was the collective responsibility of the entire nation. Gilani emphasised that national unity, democratic values, supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law were the foundations of progress. — DNA
