Foreign Minister meets Simon Coveney of Ireland
NEW YORK, (DNA) – Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Foreign Minister Simon Coveney of Ireland on the sidelines of 74th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York today.
Foreign Minister Qureshi briefed his Irish counterpart on the various facets of the ongoing grave humanitarian and human rights situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K), nothing that the siege of the Kashmiris had been in place for the last 50 days.
He expressed the hope that the international community would play its role in addressing the situation as well as towards the resolution of the long-standing Jammu & Kashmir dispute.
The two Ministers also discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest. Both the Ministers expressed satisfaction on the current state of relations.
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to continue taking steps aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in all areas, including with regard to political, economic, defence and security as well as cultural and educational matters.
