Five more babies die in Thar, toll raises to 66
MITHI: Five more children died from malnutrition and waterborne diseases in Thar on Friday, raising the death toll to 66 since the start of January.
A newborn died at the Mithi Civil Hospital, two sons of Ahsan Bajeer and Mohammad Ibrahim Khaskheli died in remote villages of Diplo taluka and two children died in Chhachhro and Chelhar areas.
The parents who took their ailing kids to hospitals in Chhachhro, Diplo, Islamkot and other towns complained that despite tall claims by the government they continued to face shortage of medicines and other necessary facilities at healthcare centres.
