Efforts must continue to defeat terrorism to establish rule of law: COAS
RAWALPINDI, AUG 07 (DNA) – Expressing full satisfaction on Army’s commitment to national defence and security, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa on Monday directed that efforts must continue, in concert with other elements of national power to defeat terrorism in order to establish rule of law and uphold supremacy of the constitution.
The Army Chief said this while chairing 203rd Corps Commanders’ conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to ISPR, the forum took a comprehensive review of internal and external security environment. The forum also deliberated upon regional security situation, especially Afghanistan and reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and security.
COAS said, “We look forward to a trust based mutual cooperation in this regard which can achieve the police ends of enduring regional peace”. The participants were also briefed about situation along the Line of Control (LoC).
The forum acknowledged positive long term effects being achieved through operation Raddul Fasaad. General Qamar Bajwa especially appreciated successful conduct of operation Khyber 4 in a most inhospitable terrain of Rajgal with minimal own casualties which is made possible through high standards of professionalism.=DNA
