Efforts afoot to complete mega development projects: Ahsan
ISLAMABAD, 27 MAY (DNA) – Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said efforts are being made to complete mega projects initiated by the government by the end of next year.
He was chairing meeting of Annual Plan Coordination Committee in Islamabad on Friday. The committee discussed public sector development program allocations. The Minister said the Government is giving priority to release funds for development projects.
He said enhancement of development budget is imperative for progress and prosperity of the country. He hoped that in the next few years, the development budget will be more than the defence and debt repayment budget.Later, talking to reporters, Ahsan Iqbal said significant increase witnessed in energy sector investment.
He said work on LNG based power projects of 3600 MW is in progress and energy projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor are underway. The Minister said special focus is being given on upgradation of electricity supply system. DNA
