I don’t accept disqualification verdict: Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE, MAR 27 (DNA) – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif has once again criticized Supreme Court of Pakistan decision to oust him from power and said that I don’t accept disqualification verdict.
Talking to Dunya News correspondent Azhar Javed at his Raiwind resident near Lahore on Monday, Nawaz Sharif said that after coming into power in 2013, his government gave top priority to bring peace and restore law and order situation in Karachi.
Nawaz Sharif said that peace returned to Karachi after his government’s efforts and its proof is the successful hosting of Pakistan Super League 2018 final in Karachi.
He said that our efforts made possible the return of International cricket to Karachi and now the West Indies side will play a three-match Twenty20 series in the city.
Former prime minister said that future of Pakistan lies in democracy and vowed to continue his struggle. He said that I don’t accept disqualification verdict and added that Pakistan economy suffered due to my ouster.
Nawaz Sharif, while taking a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, said that those who are following signals from umpires have no future in Pakistan politics.
He said that ‘Give respect to vote’ has become a national slogan and added that my ouster from power has increased the popularity of PML-N. He further said that PML-L will win the next general election.
Nawaz Sharif said that nothing has been proved against me in the accountability court. He said that efforts are being made to collects fake evidences against me. Ousted PM further said that we are being targeted and vowed to face all challenges.
He said the vote and mandate of masses should be respected and urged all the democratic forces to get united for the cause of democracy in the country. He also urged that media to bring facts before the masses.
