Dense fog disrupts traffic across Punjab, smog worsens health issues
LAHORE, NOV 05 (DNA) – Fog and smog continue to reign in the Punjab province causing several problems for the people.
Traffic flow remained affected by the high intensity of fog at morning time as drivers found it difficult to move due to less visibility.
According to Motorway Police, Motorway M-2 Babu Sabu to Kot Momin, M-3 Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad, M-4 Faisalabad to Gojra and Peshawar to Islamabad remained closed for traffic due to dense fog while the flight operation remain suspended in Faisalabad and Multan.
Similar traffic situation was witnessed in Bahwalpur, Khanewal, Multan, Rajanpur and plain areas of Sindh as heavy fog enveloped the cities.
On the other hand, smog has caused serious concerns among the public as infections of eyes, nose, ear and throat continue to mount.Increasing smog is making it hard for the people to breathe properly and with ease. Medical experts have advised the public to follow precautions and minimize their outdoor activities.
Met Office says that smog and fog will be eliminated only after rainfall.
Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Dense foggy/smoggy conditions are expected over plain areas of Punjab and foggy over central and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
