D-8 Chief honors late Supreme Leader in Tehran
TEHRAN, JUL 6: /DNA/ – The Secretary-General of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) Sohail Mahmood traveled to Tehran to participate in the official ‘Farewell and Tribute Ceremony’ organized for foreign dignitaries in honor of the late Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
During the solemn state function, the Secretary-General joined other international representatives in paying final respects to the revered leader. In a gesture of solidarity, the D-8 chief formally conveyed profound condolences to the bereaved family, as well as to the leadership, Government, and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an official statement following the ceremony, the Secretary-General offered prayers for the departed leader, stating: “May His Eminence’s noble soul rest in eternal peace and may the people of Iran find abiding solace and strength and enduring peace. Ameen!”
The attendance underscores the D-8’s commitment to its member states during times of national significance, reinforcing the bonds of fraternity and cooperation among the bloc’s developing nations.
