Crime rate in Gujrat on the rise

Gujrat. /DNA/ – The crime rate in Gujrat is on the rise, though with the approval of the Punjab government, two more police stations have started operating and total number of police stations in the district has reached 25. Street crimes such as robbery, burglary, mobile phone snatching and motorcycle theft are on the rise.According to a notification issued by the provincial home department on Jan 3, the Mangowal police check post of Kunjah police was upgraded to the police station after approval by the cabinet’s sub-committee on law and order. Another police station has been set up in the Small Industries Estate Phase-II covering most of the areas of Kunjah and Rehmania police stations.
