CM Sindh extends Rangers’ special powers for 90 days

Rangers arrest MQM London leader Dr Hasan Zafar Arif

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Monday finally approved an extension of the special powers of the Pakistan Rangers for 90 days in the city.

Newly elected Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah signed the summary to extend the Rangers’ stay in Sindh for one year and an extension of 90 days in the special powers of the paramilitary force, said a statement issued by his office.

The approved summary will now be sent to the federal Interior Ministry. In a statement issued by the CM House, Shah said he hoped Rangers would continue to work for peace in Sindh with the same commitment.
