China urged United States to lift sanctions on Iran
BEIJING, MAR 17 (DNA) – Geng Shuang Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson: We urge the US to immediately lift unilateral sanction on Iran. Continued sanction is against humanitarianism and hampers Iran’s epidemic response & delivery of humanitarian aid by the UN and other organizations.
China on Monday urged the United States to lift sanctions on Iran immediately amid the Middle Eastern country’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak.
“Continued sanction on Iran was against humanitarianism and hampers Iran’s epidemic response & delivery of humanitarian aid by the UN and other organizations,” China’s ministry of foreign affairs said in a tweet.
He added: “we have provided medical supplies and sent an expert team to Iran. If needed we will continue to do our utmost to help them in the fight against COVID-19.”
U.S. President Donald Trump unilaterally re-imposed sanctions on Tehran’s petroleum exports in 2018 after withdrawing the United States from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers.
