UNITED NATIONS, SEPT 22 (DNA) – Moments after addressing UN General Assembly (UNGA), Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi briefed media persons about his meetings held with world leaders, stating that the meetings were positive and productive.

“There were as many as 27 meetings held with dignitaries from various countries, besides interaction with foreign media persons,” he said while shedding light on his activities on sidelines of 72nd session of the UNGA.

The premier said that Pakistan’s stance was thoroughly highlighted and promoted at various platforms during these meetings, adding that he had also hold meetings with top officials of famed companies around the world.

PM said that China, Russia, and Turkey backed Pakistan’s stance on Afghanistan conflict, adding that Pakistan wants a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.

He confirmed an informal and unscheduled meeting held with Indian foreign minister.

Joining in conversation, Foreign Minister said that there is no military solution to conflict in Afghanistan while stressing political solution.

He said that Russia has also emphasised on political solution to Afghanistan issue. “Iran, Russia, and China’s role is important with regard to Afghan conflict,” Asif added.

Asif further said consensuses on Afghanistan conflict have been formed with Russia.
