Business community welcomes extension to Gen Qamar Bajwa
LAHORE, AUG 20 (DNA) – United Business Group (UBG) central chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik Tuesday, welcoming an extension in the tenure of Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for another three years, said Bajwa had boosted the morale of the army, stood up to external threats and successfully carried out the war against terrorism.
In a statement issued, Iftikhar Malik said Qamar Javed Bajwa leadership, integrity and patriotism is critical at this crucial juncture when Pakistan is facing a grave crisis in Kashmir. “The whole nation can feel comfortable that leadership of our armed forces is in good hands,” he added.
He further said Prime Minister Imran Khan must have thought that the situation right now demands that the most important member of his team, the army chief, is not changed. “In an extraordinary situation, extraordinary decisions need to be taken,” he added.
Iftikhar Malik also appreciated Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa for restoration of peace in the country.
He said the world should recognize the sacrifices of Pakistan in war against terrorism and our armed forces role in this regard is highly appreciable.
He said no country can get progress without restoration of peace and our army played vital role in maintaining law and order situation of the country.
He also said Prime Minister Imran Khan has initiated meaningful reforms across all the important fields to make Pakistan prosperous and respected country which will help him winning hearts and minds of the people.
He further asked the government to promote domestic commerce to trigger economic growth.
He said the government should also focus its attention on the neglected sector of domestic commerce which has thirty two percent shares in the GDP while it employs twenty percent of the workers.
Iftikhar Malik also assured the government of all due support in materializing the business friendly policies in the country.=DNA
