British High Commissioner calls on COAS, discusses regional security
RAWALPINDI: British High Commissioner in Islamabad Thomas Drew on Friday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed in the meeting.
Earlier this week, Drew travelled to Afghanistan, where he held meetings with Afghan officials including President Ashraf Ghani.
The British high commissioner’s official Twitter account described his meeting with Ghani as positive and constructive.
Drew had previously called on the COAS at GHQ on August 3 and September 22 again.
Matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed in those meetings as well, according to Pakistan Army’s media wing.
The visiting dignitary had acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region.
