Army wins National Women Handball Title

Islamabad, July4: Strong and star studded Pakistan Army won the 15th edition of National Women Handball Championship after defeating favourite Wapda by 27-24 at Kunj stadium Abbottabad.
Army skipper Ayesha Dilshad showed her best skills with 17 goals to secure Army for the championship title while Nusrat Bano from Wanda scored 6 goals.
During interval Wapda was leading with 13-12scores but after interval Army players including Ayesha Dilshad, Asma Altaf and Zobia Shehnaz played attacking game against defending champion to put them in pressure with closing final encounter 27-24goals.
Higher Education Commission got the third place after beating Punjab by 9-3 goals.
Eight teams including champion Pakistan Army, HEC, Wapda, Punjab, KP, Balochistan, AJK and Sindh participated in the championship.
President Pakistan Handball Federation and Treasurer Pakistan Olympic Association Muhammad Shafiq was the chief guest of closing ceremony who distributed the shield and medals to participating teams.
