Army to be deployed inside polling stations: ECP

ISLAMABAD, JUN 14 (DNA) – In bid to make elections 2018 transparent and unbiased, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday has decided to deploy army inside polling stations during general polls 2018.
Meanwhile, electoral body has also decided to print and deliver ballot papers under supervision of Pakistan Army.
As per details garnered, an important meeting of ECP was held here in Islamabad today. The session was attended by defence, interior and foreign secretaries, chief secretaries and inspector generals of police of all provinces.
Sources privy to development stated that army would also be deployed at printing press, printing corporation and Postal Foundation Printing Press.
Meanwhile, it has also been decided to install close circuit television cameras (CCTV) in sensitive and most sensitive polling stations.
On the other hand, PML-N had raised objections over deployment of army inside polling stations but the electoral body has rejected the demand.
