Army Chief sacks 11 army officers on corruption charges

ISLAMBAD (DNA) Army chief General Raheel Sharif has sacked 11 army officers on corruption charges, including one one Lt. General, five brigadiers and and five major generals. Likewise two jawans have also been sacked. The army men were involved in various corruption cases. Officers who have been sacked include Bri. Asad, Major Najeeb, Lt. Gen. Ubaiadullal, Maj. General Ijaz Shahid, Brig. Amdir. Col Haider, Brig. Rashid, Brig. Akhtar. Majority of these officers blongs to Frontier Constabulary Balochistan. Major General Shahid during his tenure as IG PC took huge kickbacks. He got a car as gift whose price ran into millions. The car developed some faults, and was handed over to two engineers of Army who during the test drive met with and accident and died. The IG FC tried to hush up the matter but the relatives of the deceased wrote a letter to the army chief. Then any inquiry was conducted. Likewise Lt. General Ubaidullah during his posting in Balochistan allegedly took huge bribes. Sources say similar investigations are under way against other army officers as well including a former corps commander of Karachi.
All perks and privileges have also been withdrawn.
