Approx.62,651 nurses working in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, 12 MAY (DNA) – As many as 62,651 nurses were currently working in the country who were taking training from registered 72 centres in Punjab,59 in Sindh, 12 in Balochistan and 19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to report issued by World Health Organization (WHO), United State stood on first position with 26,69,603 number of nurses,reported a private news channel.
In Pakistan, Begum Liaquat Ali Khan started All Nursing Association in 1951.Annually, 1800 to 2000 females get certificate of nursing while only five centres were there who were holding diploma and degree programmes.
According to health department, more than one thousand nurses were required as per the total numer of patients in Azad Kashmir.Just like around the world; the day was also being celebrated in Azad Kashmir
It is pertinent to mention that nurses around the world are celebrating International Nurses’ Day today, the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to educate the public regarding the importance and efficacy of the nursing profession. Just like the entire world, the day was also being celebrated in Azad Kashmir. DNA
