American TV channel CNBC broadcasts films about Uzbekistan for the first time
Tashkent, Uzbekistan — On 8 December, broadcasting of six films dedicated to Uzbekistan started on the air of the American television channel CNBC.
Documentary films reflect the reforms taking place in the Republic in recent years in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres through the eyes of famous foreign journalists. A number of films are devoted to positive changes in relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. These films were prepared by the famous American journalist and presenter Ryan Chilkot, who came to Uzbekistan three times and also traveled specifically to shoot these films in Afghanistan.
Three more films were produced by Imotus, a British film company that worked on the production of documentaries for the US channel CNBC, a UK-based company I-Motus.
“The documentaries, created together with the Uzbek partners of NAEMMI and the Uzbekkino NA, hopefully will cause a wide positive response from the international community and will be able to tell the world about new Uzbekistan, including large-scale changes in the Central Asian region. I am glad that we managed to organize two world-class filmmakers who came to Uzbekistan and created these films. The films show real Uzbekistan to an international audience,” commented Fred Harrison, international communications consultant at Belgrave Europe.
“The country is undergoing large-scale and significant transformations relating to different spheres of life. It is gratifying that well-known foreign journalists and filmmakers aspire to Uzbekistan, see and note these positive changes in their documentaries on the new Uzbekistan. We have always welcomed this, and in the future we will provide support to those who express a desire to talk about our country,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, head of the Uzbekkino NA.
