Ambassador Kistafin meets CFP President
ISLAMABAD, JUL 3 /DNA/ – In a significant move towards strengthening sports diplomacy, a high-level delegation from the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) called on the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, at the Kazakh Embassy today.
The CFP delegation was led by its newly elected President, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, and included senior office bearers: Mr. Anwar Saleem (Senior Vice President), Ms. Nadia Gillani (Honorary Vice President), and Raja Gauhar Iqbal (General Secretary).
The meeting centered on the mutual promotion of chess and the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two federations. During the discussion, Ambassador Kistafin extended his warm congratulations to the new CFP leadership on assuming their offices. Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to the growth of the sport in Pakistan, the Ambassador assured the delegation of full support from his country in key areas, including infrastructure development, coaching, and technical training.
A major outcome of the dialogue was the mutual agreement to facilitate the exchange of delegations between the Chess Federation of Pakistan and the Kazakhstan Chess Federation. This initiative is expected to pave the way for knowledge sharing, joint training camps, and potential participation in international events hosted by both nations.
Expressing his gratitude, CFP President Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi thanked the Ambassador for his continued encouragement and unwavering support for Pakistani chess. He highlighted that such diplomatic engagements are vital for elevating the standard of the game in Pakistan and providing local players with international exposure.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reiterating their commitment to leveraging sports as a bridge for stronger bilateral ties.
