Says Hilal-e-Pakistan ward was first given to Romanian ambassador in 2005

ISLAMABAD, MAR 25 (DNA) – Dean of Europe Emilian ION Ambassador of Romania hosted a grand dinner for the visiting Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece Petros Mavroides, who is currently of Pakistan visit along with his delegation.Petros Mavroides served as Greek ambassador to Pakistan and Afghanistan for seven years. He came to Pakistan along with his delegation for political consultations with the Pakistani counterparts.
Ambassador Emilian while speaking on the occasion recognized services of Petros Mavroides during his stay in Pakistan as Greek ambassador adding during his seven years tenure Ambassador Petros contributed greatly towards promotion of bilateral relations.
The European Dean also mentioned presence of Special Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs Waheed ul Hassan,   Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defense Mushahid Hussain Syed, former foreign secretary Salman Bashir, former minister Amad Malik on the occasion and said they are all good friends of Petros and the Romanian embassy.
Ambassador Emilian while dwelling upon initiatives that he has taken to given new dimensions to bilateral relations between Romania and Pakistan said, during last seven years he had tried his best to put bilateral relations on solid footings.
He added, his particular focus was how to further improve economic and people to people relations between the two countries. He especially talked about trade relations adding once the trade ties get strengthened, people to people relations then automatically be improved.
Ambassador Emilian further announced on the occasion that a former Romanian ambassador was the first ambassador to get Hilal—e- Pakistan award from the government of Pakistan IN 2005, which a clear manifestation of closer links between the two nations.
The chief guest Petros Mavroides in his speech thanked ambassador Emilian for providing him with a chance to meet with friends. Ambassador Petros hoped to again visit Pakistan later this year.= DNA
