Afridi unveils ICC Champion Trophy in Karachi

KARACHI, MAR 30, (DNA) -The glittering ICC Champion Trophy 2017 was unveiled in Karachi on Thursday. The trophy was brought to Pakistan from Colombo.
The first stop for the trophy was Edhi Home in Karachi, where former captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi joined the officials, Faisal Edhi and children of Edhi orphanage to welcome the trophy to Karachi.
The next stop for the trophy will be the Karachi University in the afternoon, where students will get an opportunity to see the trophy and meet cricket stars.
Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan is also likely to join the event at the university.
The ICC trophy tour was launched earlier this year and Karachi is the trophy’s sixth stop after Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Dhaka and Colombo.
The trophy will be taken to South Africa.
The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be a One Day International cricket tournament held in England and Wales between 1 and 18 June 2017. This will be the 8th edition of the tournament.
