ABAD for more private heads of govt departments

KARACHI, MAY 10 (DNA) – Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has appreciated newly appointed Chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for taking business-friendly step on the first day of his in office. ABAD has requested government to appoint people from private sector as head of Government departments directly involved in public dealing like FBR, CDA , SSGC etc.
Chairman ABAD Muhammad Hassan Bakshi in a statement said that newly appointed chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi has taken right step towards promoting business-friendly environment.
The vision of PTI government also need to be lauded for taking bold decision to appoint chairman FBR from private sector despite strong opposition from within the FBR.
Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi has in his first office order have restricted all officers of FBR from harassing businessmen. The order from Chairman says ‘No Bank account attachment unless the taxpayers’ CEO/ Principal officer/ owner is informed at least 24 hours prior to attachment and the chairman FBR approval is obtained.’
ABAD has said that such bold step is needed to create business-friendly environment because Pakistan is facing huge tax deficit. Such steps will increase the trust of business community and encourage voluntarily enhanced contribution in tax. = DNA
