PML-N meeting in London, Shehbaz Sharif likely to be given charge of party

LONDON, OCT 30 (DNA) – Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif is likely to be given charge of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as senior party leaders are meeting in London (Monday).

Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is facing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references in Pakistan, left for London on Sunday for the treatment of his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz after which his brother Shehbaz Sharif reached London on the same day.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif also arrived in London from Islamabad while Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, who was summoned by the accountability court for the hearing of NAB asset reference today, also joined them.

On his arrival at Heathrow Airport, PM Abbasi said that there is no place for technocrat government in the constitution and that he has arrived in London for personal reason.

During the meeting, the leaders will also discuss current political scenario and future strategy for the party.

A senior PML-N leader revealed that Nawaz Sharif is expected to return from London to Pakistan on November 2 to attend accountability court hearing on November 3.
