Afghanistan’s largest embassy to be built in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, AUG 20 (DNA) – Construction work for Afghanistan’s largest embassy has been launched in Pakistani capital city Islamabad.
The project was inaugurated on August 19, which coincides Afghanistan’s 98th Independence Day.
The complex covers 14 acres of land in the diplomatic quarter of the city, which has been owned by Afghanistan since 1960, Afghanistan’s ambassador Omar Zakhilwal said.
The new embassy building is being constructed by a Chinese company. The project is expected to be completed in two years.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by several delegates including Afghans and Pakistanis.=DNA
