PIA IT system ‘malfunction’ disrupts operations
ISLAMABAD, MAY 29 (DNA) – Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) information technology (IT) system suffered a serious malfunction on Monday which disrupted the schedule of various flights and prevented further bookings being made.
Following the IT malfunction, PIA’s operations came to a standstill around 9 am on Monday (today). PIA officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the disruption.
More than 60 per cent of British Airways flights from Heathrow airport were cancelled over the weekend after the airline was hit by a worldwide computer system power failure on Saturday. The error caused inconvenience for thousands of passengers.=DNA
