Sattar announces ‘Awaami Raabita’ campaign for Karachi
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar addressing a press conference in Karachi on Sunday announced the party would kick off an ‘Awaami Raabita’ campaign in the coming week.
“Within the next two days, we will start an ‘Awaami Raabita’ campaign… Members of parliament, local government representatives will form teams and visit their constituencies and union councils,” he said.
“Small and large meetings will be held… and for 100 days we will run this campaign.”
“We will also try to solve the problems of Karachi. We will serve the people and solve their problems,” he claimed.
“Whatever funds will be available to us will go to various union councils for repairs, rebuilding of streets and the cleanliness of Karachi,” he said.
The MQM leader asked party workers not to be disheartened or lose faith in the party. “MQM Pakistan is registered in the Election Commission of Pakistan under my name,” he said. “Workers need not be disheartened. They can depend on MQM Pakistan, it is the only party representing them,” he said.
Last week, a senior leader of the Farooq Sattar-led MQM Pakistan claimed the party stood split into four and it was perhaps the desire of the establishment. He said: “We will try to put facts before people so that they could know the reality and realise that what is being shown is not reality alone.”
