Kh Asif took out his anger at the GHQ in Assembly: Aitzaz

ISLAMABAD: PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan claimed Khawaja Asif’s inappropriate language against PTI chief whip Shireen Mazari in the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday was a result of his frustration at the General Headquarters (GHQ) meeting earlier this week.
the senator said the meeting at GHQ between top civil and military leadership was most astonishing, “where they sat like schoolchildren”.
“Ministers were never summoned in such a way to a meeting at the GHQ during the PPP government.”
The National Assembly erupted in its Wednesday session when opposition lawmakers chanted slogans and loudly rejected Khwaja Asif’s that loadshedding was ended.
During the chaotic back and forth between the opposition and the government, Khawaja Asif asked the speaker to “silence” Mazari, most vocal on the bench, using derogatory language. Asif also refused to apologise immediately to Mazari.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif convened a meeting termed “extraordinary” meeting on Tuesday with key ministers managing affairs in the Prime Minister’s absence, including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Adviser to the PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, PM’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry.
