FIR registered against MQM chief, other leaders under Anti-Terrorism Act

KARACHI, 15 MAY (DNA) – A case has been registered against Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain and other MQM leaders under the Anti-Terrorism Act in the Brigade police station.
According to details, a public meeting was organised in front of the Mazar-e-Quaid gate on May 12. Addressing the meeting, attended by leaders and workers of the party, Altaf Husain threatened and warned the chiefs of the ISI, MI and other law-enforcement agencies by taking their names, levelled baseless allegations against them and instigated workers of the party against the state.
The case was registered by the SHO Brigade Police Station on behalf of the state against MQM chief Altaf Hussain s/o Nazeer Hussain, Farooq Sattar, nominated City Nazim Waseem Akhtar, along with other leaders. The case No 16/96 has been registered under Sections 7/D,6/120A/120B/121/123/123A/109PPC/7ATA/25.
According to the FIR, the MQM leaders and workers had gathered for Fateha Khawani of Shuhadas of the party. They held the programme without obtaining permission from the provincial government and loudspeakers were also used.
According to the FIR, attempts were made in the programme to instigate the workers of the party, sabotage the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb and the Karachi operation to the pleasure of the enemies of the country. DNA
