PM to take part in CASA 1000 project opening
ISLAMBAD, MAY 04 (DNA) – The Ambassador of Tajikistan Sherali Jononov confirmed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will take part in the opening ceremony of CASA 1000 energy project this month.
While addressing a press conference the ambassador said the Foreign Office has already conveyed that the prime minister will take part in the opening ceremony along with other heads of states.
CASA 1000 is a landmark energy project which will be completed in two years time with an estimated cost of USD one billion. Pakistan will get 1000 MW electricity from Tajikistan after completion of this project.
While Afghanistan, another partner in this project, will get 300 MW electricity. The ambassador said fool proof systems have been introduced to protect the transmission line. The Afghan government has ensured that the transmission line shall be protected by a special unit.=DNA
