Direct flights from Lahore-Dushanbe start on May 06: Sherali Jononov

ISLAMABAD, MAY 04 (DNA) –Ambassador of Tajikistan Sherali Jononov has said the Tajik airline Somon Air will is starting direct flights from Dushanbe to Lahore from May 06. All necessary arrangements have already been made
He announced this during a well-attended press conference held at the Tajikistan embassy on Wednesday. The Ambassador was flanked by Tajik air local handlers.
The ambassador further said, Somon Air, the Tajikistan carrier, arrived in Pakistan with direct twice weekly flights between Dushanbe and Lahore, starting flight operations from 6th May 2016. The exciting news is that SOMON AIR has some great connections onwards to Europe, with some good connectivity to Moscow and Frankfurt and various other destinations.
He said the services will operate on Fridays and Tuesdays. The route will mostly be operated by B737-900 on Fridays with a configuration of 16 Business class and 168 in Economy class, and on Tuesdays Boeing 737-300 or 737-800 with 148 or 189 seats in economy class respectively.
“Further, the move will connect two world heritage cities, Lahore and Dushanbe , the twin cities , and ultimately enable tourists to visit the two places easily, besides that main focus for Pakistani travelers is to bring them shortest , economical yet world class service on city routes like Urumqi , Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Almaty, Frankfurt , Istanbul , Kabul , Dubai, mentioned few out of 21destinations on the network.
“We would like to invite you to come and fly with us to get a fine taste of some Tajik Hospitality in the Air and on the ground”.
The ambassador said the introductory fare for this route shall be Rs 35700/- which will remain in vogue till end of holy month of Ramazan. He said this route will benefit businessmen also because the planes being used on this route have large cargo capacity.
Ambassador Sherali said Pakistan and Tajikistan are tied in strong bonds of brotherhood. This relationship, he said has increased with the each passing day. =DNA
