Ambassador’s meeting with Minister of Education of Belarus
ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Mr. Sajjad Haider Khan held a meeting with Mr. Igor Karpenko, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Irina Shitkovskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry.
Appreciating the existing MOUs between the two countries covering educational collaboration, the two sides discussed whole range of topics including cooperation amongst the universities in both the countries for joint research and participation in educational programmes. Strengthening cooperation in vocational training also came under discussions.
The honorable Minister showed readiness of Belarusian side to accept issuance of double degree programmes/diplomas. He also shared the possibility of provision of scholarships to Pakistani students as part of Ministry’s annual programme.
The two sides also broached the prospects of running short term (4-6 weeks duration) languages course at the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad & at the Belarusian State University and Minsk State Linguistic University.
