PM lays foundation stone of Al-Qadir University in Sohawa
SOHAWA, MAY 05 (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday laid foundation stone of Al-Qadir University for Sufism at Sohawa in district Jhelum.
Addressing the ceremony, he said that he entered the politics 23 years ago with the purpose of transforming Pakistan into welfare state, adding that no one can become a leader without an ideology.
The prime minister said that former rulers have buried the thinking behind Pakistan’s independence, adding that we have to return towards our ideology.
He said Pakistan was to establish as an Islamic welfare state on the pattern of Madina. He said state of Madina was based on upholding of law and justice and it took responsibility of the welfare of poor, elderly and women.
Imran Khan said justice and welfare of people are prerequisite to keep a country stable and secure.
Imran Khan said Al-Qadir university will impart not only education in science and technology but also give them spiritual training.
Earlier, Speaking at the site of university, the PM’s special assistant said that the concept of setting up the Al-Qadir University was to realize the prime minister’s dream of providing equal opportunities of education to the youth.
Bukhari said besides contemporary studies of religions with emphasis on Sufism in order to revive the Islamic research culture among the youth, the university would also have focus on science and technology.
He said no university existed between Gujrat and Rawalpindi, and therefore, Sohawa has been selected to establish the university to cater to the educational needs of area youth.
PM Khan has a vision to transform Pakistan into a welfare state on the pattern of State of Madina and establishing such institutions to impart Islamic teachings to youths.=DNA
