6th Sep 1965 reminds us of the selfless sacrifices of our heroes: Asif

ISLAMABAD: 6th September, 1965 the defence Day of Pakistan reminds us of the selfless sacrifices and martyrdom of our soldiers and heroes who laid their lives to protect the honour of this land.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defence stated this while chairing a meeting of the committee constituted by PM to make preparations regarding celebration of the 50th anniversary of a defence day, 6th September 1965.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for IB&NH, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister for SAFRON and Tariq Fatimi, Special Assistant to PM were also present in the meeting.
Defense Minister said that India which claims to be the largest democracy committed an act of aggression by crossing internationally recognized border in violation of International law and against the norms of civilized behavior among the States.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that whole nation would commemorate the 50th anniversary of defense day with national zeal and fervour.
He added that Nation was still in a state of war against the hidden enemy and with the same spirit of unity like 1965, would nip their nefarious designs in the bud. He said that we are one nation in defence of the motherland.
The Committee in its meeting reviewed the level of progress in finalizing a concrete action plan regarding celebration of the 50th anniversary of the defence day.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for IB&NH told the committee that press officers abroad in the missions would be directed to highlight the significance of the day in foreign media in a befitting manner.
Information Minister further added that media representatives’ organizations like PBA, CPNE and APNS have agreed on evolving a unanimously agreed mechanism for dissemination of special media content regarding the 50th anniversary of the defense day in order to sensitize the people about the spirit of defense day.
Ministry of Information, Broadcasting & National Heritage in collaboration with Pakistan Postal Department would also hold a “Stamp Design Competition” in connection with the celebration of the defence day. Entries would be invited from students of colleges and universities of Pakistan in this regard, the Minister told the committee.
Raja Hassan Abbas, Secretary Cabinet, Muhammad Azam, Secretary IB&NH and Muhammad Malick, MD PTV were also present in the meeting.
