British royal Kate self-isolating after COVID-19 contact
LONDON – British royal Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, is self-isolating and has canceled her engagements after someone she came into contact with subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. “Last week the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19,” a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said. “Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”
Pope in ‘good’ condition after surgery, to stay in hospital for 7 days
Vatican City, July 5 :Pope Francis, 84, was doing well Monday after surgery for an inflamed large colon, but was expected to spend around seven days recovering in hospital, the Vatican said. Francis “is in good general condition, alert and breathing spontaneously”, spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement, adding that the surgery “lasted about three hours”. “A stay of about seven days is expected barring complications,” he said.
China launches new weather forecasting satellite
BEIJING – China on Monday launched Fengyun-3E, a new weather forecasting satellite into space, state-run media said.
