EU to lift restrictions on Burundi

The European Union is in the process of removing financial restrictions on Burundi, the president’s office has said. The decision to lift the ban on restrictions was communicated to Burundi’s president when he met the EU delegates on Monday in the political capital, Gitega, the president’s office announced on Twitter. NSA Moeed Yusuf to represent Pakistan in SCO meeting being held in Tajikistan today

National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf is in Tajikistan to participate in the 16th meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states starting today (Tuesday). According to statement, the NSA will also meet with his counterparts from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation and China to discuss matters of mutual interest. Swedish PM Lofven ousted by parliament in no-confidence vote

The Swedish Parliament, for the first time in the history has unseated Prime Minister Stefan Lofven through a vote of no confidence. A total of 181 of 349 parliamentarians supported the motion tabled by Left Party. The Social Democrat Party’s premier has just a week to resign or call election.


Govt committed to provide facilities to journalists: Fawad

Islamabad : Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has said that Government is committed to provide facilities to the journalists. In a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists in Islamabad, the information minister said Sehat cards will be provided to the journalists on priority basis. The information minister said special packages will be introduced in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme and Kamyab Jawwan Programme for journalists.
