PTI, Independent candidates dominate historic KP-FATA elections

PESHAWAR: (DNA) –  Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Independent candidates grabbed five seats each in the first-ever elections for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial assembly from the merged tribal areas, unofficial and unconfirmed results stated on Sunday. The polling time in the erstwhile Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) concluded on Saturday at 5pm. According to the unofficial polling results of 13 constituencies out of 16, Jamat-e-Islami, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl gained one seat each. Polling began in 16 districts early on Saturday.
